Egg, yolk, dried

Fun Facts

  1. Eggs are rich in proteins that are very similar to those found in our hair, and so make great conditioning and strengthening masks. Try beating an egg (or a couple yolks if your hair is especially dry) with a bit of olive oil, and apply to your hair once frothy.
  2. Egg yolks are very rich in Vitamin A, which is great for moisturizing. Just as you did with the whites, whisk these yolks with some water and use to wash your face.
  3. Free-range eggs, which you’ve seen in the store, I’m sure, are from chickens who are allowed “some form of outdoor access.” This amount of outdoor access is nebulous, and just because your eggs say “free-range” doesn’t mean the chickens spend their lives running around a happy farm.
  4. Pastured Eggs have higher nutritional value than commercial eggs. Especially when it comes to vitamin D. We’re talking 4-6 times more vitamin D.
